IT Support Technician - £25,000 + 28 Days Holiday + Early Finish Friday + Free Parking + Growing Business

The Company:

Our client is a leading name in the manufacture of specialist materials that are used in multiple applications across a wide range of industries. Established for over 50 years, they operate on an international basis and have demonstrated considerable growth over the last few years.

They have an exciting opportunity to join as an IT Support Technician at their UK manufacturing facility based in Blackburn. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a real difference within an established & growing business supporting their IT infrastructure.

The Role:

The IT Support Technician will report directly to the IT Manager and will provide support and IT maintenance throughout the business.

Main duties include:

  • Liaise with company employees and communicate on their behalf with the IT Manager on IT-related matters.
  • To provide first line IT support for office and factory (i.e., PC/Printer troubleshooting, logon issues, phones system) and maintain IT helpdesk
  • Diagnose and resolve issues for the on-premises phone system.
  • Follow work instructions, schedules and rotas constructed by the IT Manager and communicate any concerns or recommendations.
  • Conduct administrative duties within the IT Department.
  • Contribute to departmental performance by adopting timekeeping, efficient and accurate work behaviours.
  • Support the identification and implementation of technical IT solutions company-wide.
  • Conduct IT-related work within company guidelines to ensure that best practice procedures are adhered to.
  • Understand and follow company Health and Safety guidelines and raise IT-related concerns or recommendations with the IT Manager.
  • Conduct general housekeeping and maintenance activities from both a physical and IT perspective.

What We Are Looking For:

The IT Support Technician will ideally have experience in a similar role.

Ideally you will be/have:

  • Experience of working within an IT Helpdesk
  • Experience of networking, Helpdesk support and building and configuring PCs.
  • Comfortable with web-based and traditional IT programmes.
  • Excellent computer skills, including a working a knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Resilience with an ability to keep calm under pressure and continue to follow the correct processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to build strong interpersonal relationships with team members and other departments

What Is on Offer:

The IT Support Technician will receive a competitive basic salary of £24,500. In addition, you will receive:

  • 20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
  • Day shift Mon-Fri (12pm finish on Friday)

Collaborate with other IT staff to resolve technical issues.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or similar role.
  • Proficiency in TCP/IP protocols and firewall management.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
