Our client is a world leading media, video games and entertainment production and distribution company.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
To work as part of their international translation and localisation team, they wish to recruit, for an initial 12 month contract, either a Japanese speaking Translator, fluent also in either German, French, Spanish OR Italian. The job will be to translate, localize, proofread and edit from Japanese into either French, Italian, German or Spanish. All the text will be for the localisation of computer games and media related documentation. The typical job responsibilities will include:
- Translate everything necessary for the localisation of computer games, including in-game text, manuals and strategy guides
- Completion of various other tasks, for example website translation
- Translate and proofread from English if required
- Ensure high standards of translations at all times
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Either: French, Italian, German or Spanish to mother tongue level AND fluent/very good level of Japanese
- Experience as professional translator, editor, localisation specialist
- Translation experience of video gaming experience is desirable but not essential
- Proficient in MS Office Package, especially in Excel
- Knowledge of translation memory software, in particular Trados, is a plus
- Knowledge of local culture for language of expertise
- Great attention to detail
SALARY & BENEFITS
c£30,000 -
£32,000 (negotiable) + bonus (c £6,000-£10,000) . 1 year fixed term
