Junior Compliance Officer

Full Job Description

A leading global law firm is currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Junior Compliance Officer to join their dynamic and growing team.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on various compliance tasks, improve existing systems, and collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels within the organization.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the new client and matter 'Inbox', reviewing information provided by fee earners, and ensuring compliance with required standards.
• Reviewing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance and coordinating with fee earners to gather necessary information.
• Conducting conflict checks and performing Politically Exposed Person (PEP), Sanctions, and background checks as required.
• Maintaining various registers, including process agency matters, gifts and hospitality, and data protection.
• Handling ad hoc queries, including requests for reopening files and conducting background/company checks.
• Undertaking ad hoc research tasks to support compliance initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess an understanding and keen interest in regulatory compliance, as well as excellent IT skills, essential for effectively managing compliance-related tasks.
