Full Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

Our client is seeking a Junior Motion Graphics Designer who will be instrumental in designing and creating a range of motion graphics. This includes, but is not limited to, title sequences, social media content, digital out-of-home advertising, branding, and subtitles for their entertainment industry clients. As a vital member of the Design team, your role in producing audiovisual marketing materials is crucial. Your daily contributions significantly enhance the team's work environment and client relationships.

CREATIVE DESIGN

Development

  • Lead and contribute to the development of concepts and solutions in line with project briefs, collaborating closely with the Producer, Creative Director, or Head of Design.
  • Research relevant titles and materials for ongoing projects to bring innovative ideas to your work.
  • Stay informed about the latest creative and marketing trends and consider their application.
  • Actively seek mentorship for personal and professional growth.
  • Continuously enhance your design knowledge to stay competitive and ensure our creative responses are top-notch.

Creative

  • Aim to create industry-leading creative work across all types of content, clients, and platforms, focusing on understanding, ideation, and execution.
  • Possess a broad understanding of various design forms and the flexibility to deviate or innovate as needed for project enhancement.
  • Interpret client briefs effectively, proposing creative ideas that might diverge from the initial brief.
  • Work collaboratively with Designers, Producers, Editors, and Finishing teams, sharing ideas and feedback for an integrated approach.
  • Manage your schedule effectively, allowing for collaborative input and necessary adjustments throughout the design process.
  • Be open to and incorporate constructive feedback, using the design phase as an experimental stage for diverse ideas.
  • Display versatility in working on a range of projects, from original title treatments to subtitling and localization projects.
  • Present and articulate your work and creative process confidently.
 

TECHNICAL DESIGN

  • Proficient in Adobe Suite, particularly After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, C4D, and additional plugins.
  • Basic knowledge of After Effects plugins like Red Giant Suite and Element 3D.
  • Apply typography and composition principles effectively for enhanced readability and aesthetics.
  • Adhere to the “Designers Workflow” for best practices, eliminating inefficiencies and focusing on high-quality creative assets.
  • Ensure thorough quality checks of design renders for technical, language, and graphical accuracy.
  • Communicate with Producers about the sourcing of stock imagery to ensure licensability within budget constraints.
  • Maintain a good understanding of main clients’ branding and toolkit.
  • Organize projects for easy handover to team members, ensuring efficiency and continuity.
  • Prepare AEP files for clients or other suppliers to the highest standard.
 

DEPARTMENTAL

  • Ensure a clear and thorough handover of your responsibilities within the team during absences.
  • Accurately record daily hours for billing purposes.
  • Comply with contractual obligations and pre-approve overtime with Producers.
  • Plan holidays in advance, avoiding significant clashes with team schedules.
  • Regularly engage in one-on-one meetings with your Line Manager.
  • Be prepared for project kick-off, debrief meetings, weekly Production meetings, and regular Design team meetings.
  • Maintain clear and efficient communication with all departments, responding promptly to requests.
