Full Job Description

At INEOS Energy we produce and trade oil, gas, and carbon credits. INEOS Energy Trading (IET) is responsible for trading the gas production from INEOS’ upstream assets in the North Sea and also provides access to market for its internal businesses in countries across Europe with a significant overall energy demand.


IET recently added LNG to their energy portfolio by entering into long-term LNG supply contracts and corresponding shipping and regasification capacity contracts.


Based in London, reporting directly to the Commercial Operations Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing INEOS Energy Trading’s LNG shipping activities efficiently and safely, ensuring that all charter party obligations are met whilst seeking opportunities to reduce costs and drive value.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES


  • Ensure that all obligations/requirements within the LNG Agreements are met and that LNG and shipping operations comply with INEOS’ internal safety standards. Develop processes and procedures to ensure adherence.
  • Liaise with shipping agents, the Port Authority, Harbour Master and any other competent authority to minimise delays to IET’s vessels.
  • Appoint independent surveyors and agents for attendance at loadings/unloadings, review any reports and sign-off invoices.
  • Conduct voyage evaluation and planning, fuel management.
  • Coordinate ship/shore compatibility inspections and monitor and manage relevant terminal approved vessel lists.
  • Ensure commercial notices and documentation is in order for vessels and cargo.
  • Monitor laytime, perform/check demurrage calculations when appropriate and ensuring settlement in a timely manner.
  • Track the bunker market to understand optimal time/place to bunker and arrange bunkering of the vessels when required.
  • Pro-actively manage and close out contractual and operational disputes.
  • Accurate and timely updates to operational information into IET’s systems.
  • Review and provide input into the feasibility and development of new LNG commercial arrangements and spot cargo deals.
  • Agree and ensure compliance with, Conditions of Use Agreement, Port Agreements and similar.
  • Work with ship owner to monitor and develop strategies to reduce voyage carbon emissions. Ensuring the required allowances are bought and transferred to Owners in any emissions trading scheme.
  • The operator will handle global 24/7 trading activities, the operator is expected to respond flexibly to requests outside of normal office hours.



SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE


  • Educated to degree level, ideally in a numeric discipline
  • Relevant LNG shipping operator experience


Preferred Software Experience


  • Advanced MS Excel with VBA preferred
  • Experience of ETRMs and shipping software (advantageous)
