Full Job Description

An exciting role has become available at a precision engineering company offering high-end engineered and manufactured solutions.

Job Role: Laboratory Technician

Location: Yeovil

Hours: Full Time Monday to Friday

The Company offers a comprehensive, unrivalled capability across all precision engineering services to the aerospace, defence, and commercial sectors.

This role will include:

  • Tank maintenance and chemical additions.
  • Stock control of chemicals.
  • pH control and chemical analysis
  • Producing and conducting tests on test panels.
  • Producing and conducting tests on Hardness, Salt Spray and Coating Weight.
  • Electrical insulation & conductivity testing.
  • Advise on RCCA when discrepancies occur.
  • Support production/quality issues.
  • Writing reports on findings.
  • Assist in Internal Audits, Continuous improvement and 5S, REACH compliance.
  • Maintaining a safe place of work, ensuring all activities performed are in accordance with regulatory and company Health and Safety policy and requirement.

Skills and experience required:

  • Degree in Chemistry (preferable but not required as training can be provided)
  • Aerospace/ plating experience (preferable but not required)
  • English, Science and Math GCSE, or equivalent
  • Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail.
  • Well-rounded interpersonal and communication skills.
