The Company
I am working with a UK market leading Solar IPP to look for a new Land Manager for their team. As a company, they develop, own and operate utility scale Solar and Battery Projects throughout the UK. This is an exciting chance to join a team at the forefront of the UK's energy transition, and help grow the UK's already impressive Solar industry.
Responsibilities

Shortlisting sites suitable for development using information provided on targets areas and mapping/evaluation systems to further refine potential opportunities

Establishing contact with named landowners and obtaining signed exclusivity agreements and Distribution Network Operator letters of authority

Travelling to landowner sites and walking the proposed land parcels to establish suitability for a solar energy project, noting key characteristics in a site information sheet

Potentially engaging neighbours of the main landowners who could be included in the main development site

Arranging and attending face-to-face meetings with landowners

Regular reporting to the team, and landowners, on progress

Agreeing Heads of Terms as soon as possible and prior to the receipt of a grid offer

Liaising with landowners and working through Term Sheets and Option / Lease Agreements with them

Obtaining standard CPSE replies from the landowner, a completed Landowner Questionnaire and otherwise assisting with the conduct of any searches required

Leading on discussions relating to wayleaves and access rights

Managing external land agents who will be engaged in the same work as above
Requirements

Tenacious with a desire to secure a deal with every opportunity presented , in a personable and professional manner

Enjoyment of sales role and engaging with landowners

Knowledge of the farming and landowning community

Able to work in the UK on a long-term basis without sponsorship

Full UK driving licence

Some experience in working with landowners on exclusivity and Option for Lease agreements as well as wayleaves and easements, ideally on Solar projects

Experience in the UK development of solar and battery energy storage projects ranging between 1MW and 300MW+
