Lead Practitioner of English - Secondary English Teacher - Hillingdon

The Role: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Practitioner in English to join our passionate team. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving excellence in teaching and learning within the English department, ensuring that all students reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide inspirational leadership within the English department, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead on the development and implementation of the English curriculum, ensuring alignment with national standards and best practices.
  • Support and mentor colleagues, providing guidance and sharing best practices to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, implementing strategies to address areas for improvement and ensure all students are supported to achieve their academic goals.
  • Stay abreast of developments in English education, integrating new methodologies and resources to enhance the learning experience.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through participation in extracurricular activities, school events, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Significant experience teaching English at the secondary level, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality lessons and achieving excellent results.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues to achieve common goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for staying abreast of developments in English education.
