Full Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Cyber and Commercial PI products within the Financial Lines portfolio.
  • Maintain, re-calibrate, and enhance existing rating models, utilizing new technology for improved pricing outcomes.
  • Develop additional functionality for exposure, experience, and stochastic models.
  • Perform or review annual profit studies to identify opportunities and help define the line of business strategy for the upcoming year.
  • Define best practices for analysing segments of our portfolio and implement them across all regions.
  • Implement process improvements within existing structures on data preparation, data visualization, and presentation.
  • Support the annual planning process through coordination with regional actuarial teams.
  • Assist in ad hoc portfolio management exercises to translate exposure data into actions.
  • Review case pricing work performed by regional actuarial teams and define and monitor best practices across all company's regions.
  • Support the annual renewal process of all externally placed reinsurance treaties.
  • Work with regional underwriters and actuaries to capture price adequacy and rate changes on Financial Lines products.
  • Support ad hoc requests from senior members of the underwriting and actuarial organization, as well as senior management.


Qualifications:

  • Nearly/newly qualified actuary.
  • Experience in General Insurance, particularly Financial Lines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships with a wide spectrum of business partners.
  • Ability to communicate technical positions clearly and concisely to non-technical audiences, and to present confidently.
  • Excellent Excel skills, both in handling formulas and presentation.
  • Strong technical actuarial knowledge and an agile learning ability.
  • Proficient in data handling skills, with the ability to work with large datasets.
  • Knowledge of programming languages is a plus, particularly SQL, R, or Python.
  • Experience in Radar and Qlikview would be beneficial.
