Full Job Description

We are actively inviting an experienced Lead Theatre Practitioner to apply to The Wilmslow Hospital. Part of the World’s largest private healthcare group; providing award winning primary, acute and complex care

Location – The Wilmslow Hospital 52-55 Alderley Road, Wilmslow SK9 1NY

This role is a 37.5 hours per week Monday – Saturday
 

Operating Times: 06:00- 21:00

Shift Patterns: Early shift 7.30- 18:00; 10:00-20:00; 12:00-21:00

Salary range is competitive based upon experience and you will receive a 4% shift allowance plus benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits and excellent career development).

The Wilmslow Hospital covers a wide variety of surgical procedures including Gastroenterology, ENT ear, nose and throat, haematology, urology, plastic surgery, orthopaedic care and gynaecology. The theatres across our facilities, provide a vibrant, exciting and professional environment where the advance equipment and technology is second to none.

The Role:

  • To ensure that professional and national standards are met in accordance to the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), Health Professions Council (HPC) and HCA’s Code of Conduct.

  • To provide clinical leadership and support colleagues to plan, monitor and evaluate skilled and appropriate care for patients undergoing different forms of surgery to ensure the provision of evidence-based care.

  • The post holder must act as a role model in providing specialist knowledge.

  • To work as part of a team supporting and developing colleagues by mentoring and assessing their skills.

  • To help coordinate the Theatre department in the absence of the Theatre Manager and Theatre coordinator. 

  • To help with the booking process of specialist loan kit in.

  • To help the with the coordinating of General and ENT cases.

  • Assist coordinate with other specialities.

Skills & Experience

  • Operating Department Practitioner/Registered Nurse qualified.

  • Current HCPC/NMC Registration

  • Extensive experience in a vast range of specialities especially General, ENT and Orthopaedics.

  • Surgical First Assistant (preferable)
