Full Job Description

A vacancy has arisen in the Leasehold services team for a Leasehold services officer.  This post is offered on a full-time basis of 36 hours per week.

 

You will join the Leasehold services team whose main responsibilities are the consultation with our leaseholders regarding major works and to formulate/ issue and collect annual and major repair service charges accounts for all leasehold and freehold Croydon landlord properties.  Your main role and responsibility would be supporting the team to maximise service charge collection and consultation with the leaseholders and resolving the leaseholder’s disputes about their service charge and major works accounts. Dealing with solicitor sales enquiries and helping to support our leaseholders with issues about their leases.

 

This is an exciting but very busy position within the Housing department which offers satisfaction as you will be offering support and advice to our leaseholders who pay for our services.

 

To be successful, you must have:

 

  • Experience of service charges administration and debt recovery in a local authority or housing association, leasehold management experience
  • Be knowledgeable of the Landlord and tenant Act 1985 (as amended by Section 151 of the Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Act 2002)
  • Have an ability to provide a responsive service to our customers, listening to them and responding to their needs with any issues associated with their leasehold.
  • An ability to gather accurate and meaningful information to formulate service bills;
  • Good level of oral and written communication skills.; and
  • An understanding of equalities issues and how they relate to provision of the service to leaseholders.
