Job Description
The Old Dominion University Department of Communication Disorders and Special Education is inviting applications for two 12-month positions as Lecturers of Special Education. This program offers undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD degrees. Duties will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in special education, advising students, supervising teacher candidates seeking certification in special education general curriculum disabilities, and providing community outreach. Candidates will be expected to teach in traditional, on-campus classroom settings, and in field-based or distance learning modalities (i.e., web-conferencing, online).

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidates for the position would have experience with the following: online instruction and/or post-secondary teaching in special education emphasis on the general curriculum K-12 (e.g., students with a specific learning disability) collaborative efforts involving public schools, postsecondary institutions, and/or community agencies effective integration of technology in the instructional process; and participation in accreditation review processes demonstrated commitment to diversity and participation in program decision-making
