Job Title: Lending Product Manager
Duration: 3 Months
Location: HSBC London / Hybrid
Pay Rate: £700 Per Day PAYE or £899.03 Per Day Umbrella / Inside IR35
THE ROLE
HSBC Innovation Bank Limited (“HSBC”) is looking for an experienced Lending Product Manager to augment our Lending Product Management Team for a minimum of 3 months. The Team is responsible for lending products delivered by HSBC’s Innovation Banking business line and candidates should be tech savvy, self-starters, driven by an appetite for knowledge, detail and data, and have a passion for change.
The existing two-person team requires bandwidth support to address a surge in BAU requirements. Therefore, the candidate should be experienced with lending products and so be able to contribute from day 1. Candidates should have excellent, translatable knowledge gained from working predominantly in banks, online banking service providers or Fintech companies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Current state Process Mapping : o Analyse and document the current lending product processes, o Suggest process improvements where client experience is leading, followed by efficiency.
Current state Procedure Documentation : o Review and update existing procedure manuals and guidelines, o Identify alignment / gaps with wider HSBC approach, o Review and update legacy product lending product guides for Innovation Banking, oCreate a SharePoint / repository to collate lending related documentation materials.
Warrants: o Assist with the documentation of current, and any changes and governance required for warrants that are issued alongside Lending Products.
New Product Development Initial Investigation: o Research and evaluate the requirements for UK Export Finance accreditation for lending products, o Assess the potential benefits and risks of obtaining accreditation, oDevelop a roadmap for achieving accreditation, including necessary resources and timelines. o Support Lending Product Head with development of Arranged Overdrafts and sustainability linked lending.
Policy Gap-Analysis : o Review and assess the alignment of current lending products with the HSBC Group Policies, o Identify gaps and areas of non-compliance, o Develop and implement action plans to address identified gaps.
IDPR Data Collation : o Gather and analyse key performance indicators for lending products.
Document and assist with the investigation and remediation of any Risk Events that occur relating to Innovation Banking’s Lending Products
Pricing Review Data Collation : o Gather and analyse data on current pricing structures for lending products, o Benchmark against industry standards and competitor offerings, o Help to identify opportunities for pricing optimization and revenue growth.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
The candidate is expected to be materially experienced in
Management of the product life cycle including New Product Approvals, Product launch and Rollout, Product Change Process, margin management, pricing reviews, Product Reviews
Building and writing of business cases and business requirements
Writing of marketing content
SME support of Sales colleagues
Writing and presenting to a high standard, at a senior level
Experience in documenting formal processes and procedures
The successful candidate will:
Have material experience in lending products,
Have a deep understanding of capital allocation and costs,
Ideally have familiarity with Tier 1 Bank Governance Requirements.
