Level 3 Technician - UT Phased Array

Our network of more than 1,000 laboratories and offices in more than 100 countries, delivers innovative and bespoke Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification solutions for our customer’s operations and supply chains.

Due to continued growth, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Level 3 Technician to support the Site Services Department. You will run and develop Phased Array UT and Contact UT for the business. To operate from our facility in Derby, UK and will also travel to support site services when required. Liaise with clients on technical issues and develop NDT procedures to meet their needs.

About You

Required skills and experience

• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of client company activities and industry standards
• Steadfast resolve and personal integrity
• Experience of the practical implementation of ISO17025/9001 as it relates to site services inspection.
• Knowledge and experience of testing and assurance processes in various NDT disciplines
• Have held level 2 or level 3 PCN qualifications in UT contact for 4+ years
• Other disciplines such as UTC, UTF, UTW, MT, PT would be advantageous

Key Responsibilities

• Technical and Quality
• Liaison with Customers
• Develop a new client base
• Advise clients on the appropriate NDT technique required for their needs
• Keep Level 2 & 3 approvals up to date
• Approval of techniques/data cards
• Contract Review of paperwork
• Raising of Technical Documentation
• Training & over checking of staff & functional checks
• Ensuring Calibration checks are carried out
• Consumables ordering/logging and database updating
