JOB DESCRIPTION


Job Title: Licensing Artist

Team: Licencing

Reporting into: Licensing Producer

Hybrid Working Status: Fully remote available.


Position Overview


We are seeking a Licensing Artist to work as part of our expanding Licensing team. Responsibilities include creating custom kit textures, logos, and 2D art, as well as modelling and texturing 3D assets across all Football Manager titles. The role will cover multiple areas and disciplines as required. Strong communication skills will be necessary to collaborate with team members across multiple departments.


In addition, during months where there is a low amount of licensing work the successful candidate will support our web-based Online Research Database team with UI/UX work.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the creation and implementation of Licensed Assets (including kits, headshots, logos, trophies, balls, ad-hoardings, and match-day props).
  • Receive assets (kit references, logos, trophies, headshots, etc.) from licensors and distribute workload to appropriate team members.
  • Ensure all trackers are maintained and collect data from each cycle to improve future processes.
  • React to feedback from licensors in a timely manner.
  • Create/maintain guides and walkthroughs of the asset creation process.
  • Responsible for the quality control of internal and external asset creation.


Requirements:


  • Strong core art skills.
  • Proficient in Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects).
  • Proficient in Autodesk Maya and Z-Brush.
  • Basic understanding of design systems and design software such as Figma / Sketch.
  • Experience working with Unity or similar game engine.
  • Working knowledge of Blender a bonus, but not essential.
  • Passion for and knowledge of world football, specifically kits, match balls and other licensed assets.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify common themes across clubs, competitions and manufacturers in the world of sport.
  • Interest in licensed assets across sport/games/broadcasting and ability to identify inconsistencies therein.
  • Ability to identify third-party branding or brands with an adult focus (gambling/alcohol, etc.) and any potential knock-ons this may cause.
  • Strong communication skills, able to collaborate with staff across all departments.
  • Ability to plan, as well as being able to adapt to fast changing environments.
  • Experience working in a fast-moving environment and able to demonstrate good time management skills.
