Life Cycle Assessment Advisor

£35,000

Hybrid Role with HQ in Wollaston, UK

As our new Life Cycle Assessment Advisor, you will lead the assessment of our product life cycles, identifying opportunities for environmental improvement and shaping the future of sustainable chemical solutions.

You’ll be conducting comprehensive Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) for our chemical products, ensuring a thorough understanding of their environmental impact. Collaborating closely with R&D, production, and sustainability teams to develop and implement strategies for reducing environmental footprints.

By utilizing advanced LCA methodologies and software tools, you’ll be able to analyse data, providing actionable insights for product development and process optimization.

Some of your key responsibilities:

  • Building and developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive programs to completion.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for product carbon footprint standards such as the ISO 14040 & 14067 standards.
  • Developing reports, dashboards and metrics which distil complex data into actionable insights to inform AWS net zero carbon strategy.
  • Author timely, responsive and proactive responses on matters of environmental sustainability from the company’s businesses, sites, customers, suppliers and distributors, including clarification of customer needs.
  • Conduct of carbon accounting and develop carbon footprints to support sustainability reporting and carbon reduction strategies.
  • Lead the reporting of EPDs, LCAs and carbon-foot printing results and activities to internal businesses and sites and external customers.

What do I need to be successful in this role?

  • Awareness of global environmental legislation as it pertains to LCA and carbon footprinting.
  • ability to apply Life Cycle Impact Assessment and carbon foot-printing methodologies and associated standards, protocols, and databases.
  • understanding and experience of ISO 14040 and 14044 standards
  • thinking and fast learning, comfortable with qualitative and quantitative problems, spreadsheets, approximations, and assumptions.
  • planning and proactive communication, comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously and balancing shifting priorities.
  • ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for environmental performance improvement and provide recommendations for reducing environmental impacts throughout the entire life cycle.
