The Loans Operations teams support all lending activity for Corporate and Commercial clients of the bank across North America, Latin America, EMEA and Asia. The Loan IQ Ops Readiness EMEA lead will be responsible for understanding and supporting the transformation efforts across Loan Operations driven by the implementation of a new commercial banking lending system - Loan IQ.

This role will require thorough understanding of strategic direction of the lending business as the organization transitions from the historical Flexcube processing environment to the Loan IQ platform.  Specifically, the position requires the ability to understand how that transition relates to the Operations team’s ability to support business strategy and growth through a system transition, while designing and building new operational, risk and control processes.

The LIQ Ops Readiness Project Lead responsible for the design and execution of numerous operations implementation efforts: integration with front office systems, buildout of loan trading programs, new process and procedures across all operational requirements, and integration with tech teams as new functions are built and tested.  They will have to develop strong working partnerships across operations functional areas, with business leads, and with numerous technology teams to effectively manage and support the Loans Operations transformation.

Excellent influencing and communication skills required in order to negotiate internally across the business and with technology partners, often at a senior level.

Responsibilities

Overall:  Accountable for identifying the impacts to Loan Ops based on program and plan scope; provides inputs into functionality and scope prioritization. Impact assessment will inform action required for other Loan Ops owned scope (e.g., Business Requirements Support (including controls), UAT scenarios, Process and Procedures, Training, Policy impacts, etc.). 

Overall Focus Area Summary:  Identify and implement changes across Global Loan Operations necessary to transition to the Loan IQ system:

  • STP and automation with upstream systems and teams
  • Work between Loan Operations staff and Technology teams in converting loans from Flexcube to Loan IQ.  Build approach and tracking mechanisms.
  • Lead relationship with the Technology teams.  Coordinate all new operations requirements by ensuring they are appropriately documented and signed off.
  • Support user test requirements and execution
  • Partner with Accounting and Control and finance teams to ensure all necessary controls and reporting are in place
  • Proactively manage changes that impact project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans when necessary.
  • Prepare status reporting to senior management on progress across all Loans Operations teams in moving from Flex to Loan IQ

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in financial services or similar industry
  • Proven track record in application implementation and system integration across multiple platforms.  Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes is key
  • Background and/or exposure to financial operations processes
  • Strong analysis and documentation skills
  • Project and program management experience a plus
  • Strong oral and written communicator
  • Demonstrated ability to assess complex issues, structure potential solutions, and drive to resolution with operations staff and senior stakeholders.
  • Team player with strong influencing and partnering skills who can handle strong personalities at all levels of the company
  • Track record of managing work to achieve milestones on time and within budget in a high-pressure environment
  • Analytical, flexible, team-oriented, have good interpersonal and follow up skills with strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Technical proficiencies in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project) and industry standard project management tools.
