Make your mark for patients

We are looking for an MSL  to join us in our UK Neurology  team, covering the South of the UK,  working primarily in the area of epilepsy and developmental epileptic encephalopathies.

About the role

As an advanced-degree professional, you will be part the neurology team, and be expert in the therapeutic area and UCB portfolio. You will build external networks and work as a major connection of Healthcare Professionals with UCB, to enable the business to help improve patient care.

What you’ll do

  • Trusted Partner:  Be a key contact and trusted partner for Healthcare Professionals and Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) in the epilepsy therapeutic area, building relationships, engagement, and trust.
  • External Education:  Engage in peer-to-peer two-way scientific exchange with Healthcare Professionals and provide quality Healthcare Professional education resources within the neurology therapeutic area.
  • Data Generation:  Develop and support local Real World data generation for audits outcomes and service pathways effectiveness analyses within the health system, from strategic inception through to tactical implementation and delivery of partnership projects. Support IIS following applicable processes and regulations in-line with UCB strategy.
  • Clinical studies:  Maximize UK and Ireland participation in UCB originated clinical trials and non-interventional studies by engaging with investigators and study coordinators and provide expert input into the EU Phase IIIb/IV plan for the therapeutic area portfolio.
  • Training and communication : Be an internal medical content expert, being able to understand and communicate complex data effectively to internal stakeholders, with an effectiveness at creating and delivering content and presentations on medical topics.
  • Data dissemination:  Contribute to building high value-added medical programs such as HCP training programmes, Continuous Medical Educational Programmes and Symposia and the development of scientific publications related to the therapeutic area/brand.
  • Insight gathering:  Identify signals in all customer related activities (Peer to peer, Advisory boards, congresses etc) and recommend actions.
  • Compliance: Have full knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice, and always work with its values at heart, and contribute to ensuring all UCB medical information is accurate, fair, and balanced.
  • Cross functional working:  Drive and execute the medical plan for BII neurology and Irish Isles (BII) Brand plan, while also working compliantly with stakeholders across all functions.

Interested? For this position you’ll need the following education, experience and skills :

  • MD, PhD or PharmD preferred
  • MSL Experience preferred
  • Medical affairs experience with Disease Area knowledge in Epilepsy, Neurology or Rare Disease preferred
  • Demonstrated National and local NHS knowledge.
  • Demonstrated innovative and created ways of thinking.
  • Experience in supporting medical writing and publications.
  • Experience in delivering scientific internal training and external medical education
  • Solid communication skills across a variety of media, and the ability to articulate ideas and concepts clearly.
