Machine Shop Supervisor, Permanent position, Wellingborough based company, Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week on a day shift, 35,000 starting salary.
I am recruiting for an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor with experience of high end precision engineering and who can operate various types of CNC machines. You will be joining my client as an experienced supervisor who has the knowledge to run and operate certain types of CNC Machines both milling machines and lathes. This is very much a "hands on" role, ideal for a candidate with a strong background of machinery within a machine shop and experience of manufacturing precision parts to tight tolerances on CNC machines, lathes.
The Role
As the Machine Shop Supervisor you will be undertaking
the following duties.
1.Programme, set and operate CNC and
manual machines.
2.Meet production deadlines ensuring that the
appropriate checks have been carried out.
3.Work to machining
tolerances ensuring that the completed component is checked against
the required specifications.
4.Utilising Prototract, SLX, Siemens,
Shopmill.
5.Turning and milling on machines.
6.Interpret /
understand engineering drawings.
7.Assist with production
planning.
8.Ordering materials and tooling for
machines.
9.Overcome day to day machining issues.
10.Ensuring
Health and Safety /legislative controls are adhered
to.
11.Supervision, training, and development of
operators.
12.Working with factory managers.
13.Some lifting
(Between 10kg - 20kg)
Experience & Skill Set
To be
considered for this role, the following experience is required and
will need to be demonstrated at interview.
1.Time served CNC
and manual machining knowledge with a minimum of 4 years
2.Be able
to program set and operate CNC manual machines.
3.Have prior
supervisory experience within an established role.
4.Be able to
show a 5 year consistent employment history.
5.Have excellent
attention to detail.
6.Have experience of using Prototract, SLX,
Siemens and Shopmill
7.Have a good understanding of best tools for
the job and feeds + speed for different tools.
8.Highly cooperative
and team orientated.
9.Flexibility and ability to adapt to
change.
10.Being tidy and organised to ensure safe, efficient work
space and to adhere to all company Health and Safety and PPE
rules.
11.Excellent communication skills.
