Introduction
Netflix’s Public Policy is seeking a copyright and media regulation manager to join the Policy Strategy Partners Team. The manager will review existing and new laws and regulations to understand the impact on Netflix and provide insight and analysis on how to shape our strategy.

The PSP team sits in Netflix’s global policy team, with a central function to provide substantive expertise, industry and business acumen, strategic vision, global connectivity and intelligence to our regional policy teams and the business as a whole.

The Opportunity 
We are seeking a Manager to sit in the Content and Studio team within PSP to focus on cultural, copyright and content protection (anti-piracy) policy. This Manager will primarily support the Senior Manager leading on these areas and will work across other specialist areas within PSP, the broader policy team and business as needed.  

In this role, you will Partner with the business and our local policy country leads to:
    • Advise on and support the implementation of strategies around copyright, content protection and cultural policy (media regulation) offering an in-depth knowledge of how they relate to our broader business, 
    • Review existing and new laws and regulations to synthesize the impact on Netflix. Anticipate and deepen our understanding of legislations that could impact our service, compromise our content (piracy) and/or damage our reputation 
    • Collaborate cross functionally and support external engagements with policy makers, industry, trade associations and thought leaders 
Requirements:
    • Degree in Law with specialization in Intellectual Property
    • Minimum 5PQE Years experience
    • Based out of London or Amsterdam
What will put you ahead:
    • Experience at a law firm or international/regional organization advising on IP policy issues in multiple jurisdictions (including the EU, but also familiarity with relevant issues globally) with a particular focus on copyright as it relates to the entertainment and tech industries;
    • Demonstrated track record and expertise with major copyright developments, including in the EU, as well as US, Asia, Africa and Latin America;
    • Familiarity with the efforts of trade associations, e.g., AVIA and MPA and others, and comparable experience in a market-leading entertainment organisations. 
We need someone who:
    • Can hit the ground running and work autonomously but is also a great team player.
    • Can work cross-functionally with a variety of teams and synthesize the views into a holistic Netflix position on policy.
    • Is used to working alongside creative, legal and business execs in setting context around the changing regulatory frameworks and spotting global themes.
    • Is willing to travel internationally.
