Manual Machinist
This is a permanent role,
based in Leyland, working with a leading automotive testing company.
Role & Responsibilities
The right
candidate will liaise and work with engineering staff to manufacture
parts as required to support the Test Departments using the various
manual machines within the shop:
- Milling machine
- Jig borer
- Centre lathe
- Capstan lathe
- Surface and tool grinders
You will be required
to work flexibly to provide technician support to the test departments
as required.
Ensure all Health & Safety and quality procedures are
adhered to
Ordering of stock
Develop initiatives to reduce waste
and optimise efficiency
Day-to-day housekeeping and maintenance of
the Machine Shop
Provides basic level of facility breakdown
diagnostics and resolution
Qualifications required
Time-served machinist or similar
Physical
Requirements
The successful candidate is required to
have manual handling experience (up to 25kg maximum)
Activities
will include bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye
coordination, and manual dexterity
Skills
- Basic PC skills.
- Good organisational, analytical and problem solving skills
- Highly motivated team player
- Represents high company standards
- Customer focused
This is a standard day shift, working 37
hours per week over 4.5 days.
