Carbon60 are recruiting for a manual machinist to work for a large
engineering company that provide pumps, compressors, turbines, and
generators.
This manual machinist role is on a temporary
6-month basis and has become available due to continued growth and
expansion. The ideal candidate is someone who is apprenticeship
trained (or a relevant qualification) and has worked within a related
industry.
Role Responsibilities:
- Ability to setup machine tools: Grinders, Lathes, Horizontal Boring Mill, and Vertical Boring Mills
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, and process cards to determine dimensions, tolerances, and materials required.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines, such as lubrication, cleaning, and tool sharpening.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Skills and Experience required:
- Apprentice trained is advantageous (a relevant qualification will also be considered).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of machine tools and their functions.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
