Marketplace Analytics Manager

To accelerate our growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Marketplace Analytics Manager with operational expertise and bias for action.  You'll focus on developing and executing marketplace management strategies to optimise in platform job allocation and completion. You’ll work to balance supply and demand across both sides of the marketplace (B2B and B2C) and identify current gaps and opportunities. You’ll work closely with product, data, marketing, and sales teams to align marketplace strategies with business goals and customer expectations.  Skilled in all things marketplace intelligence, strategy and optimisation, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a household name looking to amp it up! Location: Kings Cross, London or Portsmouth, Hampshire. Hybrid working applies with 4 days in the office minimum. 

Where do you fit in?

You'll play a key role in defining and implementing marketplace optimisation strategies to improve business performance. You’ll own the development and execution of a Marketplace Intelligence framework. This will enhance our understanding of market health, supply/demand imbalances, competitive pressures, trends and much more. You’ll monitor and review tactics employed by competitors to identify opportunities and threats with recommended actions to capitalise accordingly. You’ll assume a test and learn approach to implement pricing changes, and report on impact across conversion, revenue and overall business performance. Marketplace Operations is a newly created sub-team within our Finance and Pricing function. Consequently you’ll have the opportunity to evaluate and implement pricing tools, software, and technology in line with our future ambitions.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Degree in Business/Economics, STEM or similar with a proven track record of operational and analytical experience gained in a two-sided marketplace business (essential).
  • You'll be a holistic thinker with a broad skill set across data, operations and execution as well as commerciality.
  • You’ll be exceptional at data manipulation with expert level SQL along with PowerBI, Excel and ideally Presto experience. You'll know exactly what and how to measure. 
  • You’ll be innately inquisitive and continuously curious including exploring the opportunities across AI/ML and are curious to use low-code/no-code/AI-tools in your day to day.
  • Talented at simplifying the complex, you’ll design robust experiments, communicate and collaborate efficiently, always bringing cross-functional teams along with you. 
  • Ability to balance long-term strategic thinking and ensuring flawless execution.
