Location: St Albans

Temp to Perm position

Hours: Monday - Friday 8-5

Salary:  £17.50ph

Our well established, growing client within the automotive industry are on the lookout for a Vehicle Mechanic to join their team in St Albans to service customer vehicle but also their fleet of vehicles. You will be required to work on both diesel and petrol vehicles on both cars and vans.

Responsibilities:

· Perform routine maintenance and repair on diesel engines and vehicles

· Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with diesel engines

· Conduct inspections and perform preventative maintenance on diesel equipment

· Repair or replace faulty components, such as fuel systems, electrical systems and exhaust systems

· Use power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete repairs

· Read and interpret schematics to understand engine specifications

· Assemble and disassemble engines for repair or maintenance

· Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed

Requirements for Vehicle Mechanic:

· Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role

· Proficient in using power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment

· Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components

· Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals

· Experience with welding and fabrication techniques

· Familiarity with heavy lifting procedures and safety
