Mechanical Design Engineer - Chassis

Full Job Description

A manufacturer of both single and double deck battery and fuel cell electric buses is currently looking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer – Chassis. The successful candidate will assist the Head of Vehicle Systems in driving the vision, strategy, design, compliance, and implementation of the Engineering function to align with the business's strategic objectives.
 
The Mechanical Design Engineer – Chassis will:

• Drive the specification, selection, and integration of components and systems for both new and existing vehicle designs.
• Manage the definition, execution, and successful completion of verification and validation plans against specified requirements.
• Document, validate, and provide Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) information and analysis for design reviews and NPD gateways.
• Support the New Product Development (NPD) Strategy for Electric Vehicle (EV), Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV), and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) vehicles and systems.
• Create Creo models and assemblies for vehicle components and systems.

 
The Mechanical Design Engineer – Chassis will have:

• HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering / related discipline or equivalent qualification.
• Work experience within the engineering industry.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with 3D & 2D CAD.
• Engineering report writing.
• Strong organisational and planning skills
