Mechanical Design Engineer

Full Job Description

Our client is a world class leader of mechanical, electrical and public health services , they provide the design, management, delivery of the most technically challenging MEP schemes with sustainability in the heart of their work. They are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to help support its rapidly growing, successful team.

Responsibilities & Duties:  

- Strongly-focussed design involvement including attending design team meetings with clients.  

- Carrying out heat loss and pipe-sizing calculations.  

- Producing design drawings, working drawings, schematics and associated schedules.  

- Site visits and surveys and producing reports  

- Reporting to and continuous liaison with the Design Manager  

- Ensuring all deadlines are met to the highest standard

Requirements:

- A minimum of 2-3 years design experience within the Building Services industry  

- Ideally have design experience in a wide range of sectors  

- Preferably a consultant or contracting background  

- Qualified to ONC/HNC standard as a minimum in Building Services or Mechanical Services Engineering  

- Experience using AutoCAD and Hevacomp  

- Knowledge of REVIT would be ideal but not essential  

- Confidence to take a ‘hands on’ approach  

- Excellent time management skills  

- Flexible attitude to balance work loads and deadlines  

- Applicants must hold a driving licence and valid CSCS card
