Elevation Recruitment Group are working alongside a heavy engineering company to recruit a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join their facility in Sheffield.

Salary: £44,000 plus OT and bonus

Hours: Shifts - 4 on 4 off- 6 till 6 am/pm

Reporting to the Shift Engineer the Mechanical Shift Engineer works as part of a multifunctional maintenance team on shifts, carrying out planned and unplanned work as necessary.

Duties and responsibilities of the Mechanical Shift Engineer include: 

  • Carrying out mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and process work (planned / unplanned) occurring on the plant
  • Liaising with Shift Engineers to prioritise the workload
  • Assist the Shift Engineer to maximise the plant availability
  • Assist, carry out and support the PM activities
  • Responding to 1st line maintenance requirements, performing hands-on maintenance to deal with the task safely and effectively
  • Ensuring the appropriate use of CMMS (Agility) throughout the shift operations.
  • Creating appropriate engineering reports and providing sound justification for their shift.
  • Assisting mechanical engineering activities on their shift to comply with all internal and external health, safety, and environmental requirements. Including the plant permit to work system

We would be keen to speak with Mechanical Shift Engineers with the following skills & experience:

  • Educated to an ONC level or have proven mechanical experience in a heavy engineering environment.
  • Be able to demonstrate an awareness of Heavy Engineering.
  • Driven to work in a demanding and challenging environment.
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of practical mechanical hands-on skills.
  • A good communicator, both verbal & written.
  • Able to demonstrate problem-solving abilities and prioritise work schedules.
  • Able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of health and safety and environmental policies and plans.
