The Medical Manager Rare Diseases is a key member of the Neuroscience & Rare Disease team and reporting to the Medical Affairs Lead.

As the Medical Manager Rare Disease,  you will strategic and tactical medical expertise for the appointed disease area / product including:

  • Working in collaboration with cross-functional team members to develop the therapy area medical strategies, plans and tactics to ensure they reflect the needs of the UK market aligned to the brand strategy in line with the medical budget
  • Guiding the development of integrated data generation plans
  • Working in partnership with the Integrated Brand Team (IBT) and UK medical teams to shape and influence strategies, plans and tactics to ensure they reflect the needs of the UK & Ireland affiliate
  • Representing the company as a key clinical expert.
  • Interacting closely with commercial and market access counterparts on the disease area level and will be responsible for the implementation of aligned medical education events
  • Ensuring all individuals, strategies and processes follow all relevant guidelines and regulations

In this role your primary focus will be:

Delivering Medical Affairs Leadership

  • Contribute to the establishment and implementation of strategic plans that deliver Ipsen UK and Ireland medical objectives aligned to therapy area/brand objectives
  • Act as a medical ambassador in representing Ipsen’s with external stakeholders

Establish and foster professional collaborations with the Healthcare community

  • Develop and enhance scientific and educational collaborations with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) within the Healthcare community and act as a medical contact for TL and external medical experts in order to establish and retain a medical/scientific partnership at the highest level of expertise.

Support to clinical development & study management (data generation)

  • Help develop Company Sponsored Studies (CSS) and Support R&D & GMA studies when appropriate

Ensure internal cross‐functional collaborations as a scientific partner

  • Contribute to the development of the Local Annual Medical Plan (LAMP)
  • Develop standard responses if required (in coordination with Medical Information)
  • Provide scientific expertise and training to commercial staff as required - Contribute to the creation, review and approval of non-promotional materials in accordance with the local SOP
  • Maintaining compliance

In order to be considered for this role you will have an appropriate level of qualification ( e.g. Ph.D., MD, PharmD), coupled with an experience as Medical Signatory (or to the level of a medical signatory if not a medical graduate or pharmacist) for the UK ABPI Code of Practice . You will have a track record in pre-launch and/or launching activities. An have exceptional communication and influencing skills.
