Full Job Description

£40-£45k + superb benefits. We’re seeking a Membership News Editor with strong writing and copywriting skills to join the communications team for a leading membership body in the commercial financial services industry to deliver both the association's flagship monthly magazine, and daily newsletter.

So as you can imagine, there's plenty of content to keep the news editor going.


The Role

Reporting into the absolutely lovely Communications Manager, you'll taking responsibility for the editorial quality and content of monthly magazine and morning daily newsletter. Meeting pre-determined copy and advertising deadlines you'll lead the continuing development and refreshing of the magazine newsletter, writing, sub-editing, proofreading and commissioning articles. To do this you'll need to conduct interviews with key industry figures, liaise with contributors, attend and report on conferences, exhibitions, press launches and seminars where appropriate.


Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, or a related field is typically preferred.
  • Previous experience working in journalism or a news editing or editorial role is essential.
  • Understanding of news production processes, journalistic ethics, and industry standards.
  • Excellent writing and editing.
  • Familiarity with the financial services industry is highly desirable and experience in member-focused communication or engagement is advantageous.
  • Proficient in crafting clear, concise, and engaging news articles, press releases, and other written materials.
