Pink Tile Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant for our client; a forward-thinking special school near Horsham, Crawley and Haywards Heath. The pupil community is diverse & spans from KS1 to KS2. You will support the team in providing an opportunity for these young people to re-engage and enjoy the core curriculum, as well as other activities.
The school specialises in SEMH, Social Emotional & Mental Health, and caters for primary-aged children with challenging behaviour and some SEND.
This is a permanent role which follows a 12-week temporary probation. The school are looking TAs that share that permanent view of the role.
£79 per day - Temp to Perm
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willing to obtain one (we can help you to obtain one before your start date)
- Able to adapt to the different needs of each student
- Confident working with children & young people in SEN and behaviour
- A thick skin, confidence and patience - resilience in times of challenges
- Previous work with primary (not essential)
Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher
- Support the pupils
- Understand individual needs & adapt approach
- Maintain a smooth-running classroom - turning challenging behaviour around with patience, understanding, distraction, authority and reasoning.
- Keeping the children safe.

You must have a Child Enhanced DBS on the update service to be put forward for an interview/trial at the school. If you need to obtain a DBS, we can help.
