The role

Through the implementation of innovative fermentation processes, the company’s technology offers a sustainable solution to tackling global food insecurity.

The business has created a new opportunity for a motivated Microbial Pipeline Team Leader to support the expansion of the organization’s current product portfolio.

Reporting to the CTO and based in their new laboratory in York, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and developing opportunities for pipeline microbial products by working closely with both the R&D and Commercial teams
  • Managing an intuitive technical team and sharing knowledge of microbial isolation and identification, as well as microbial/consortium formulation
  • Using molecular biology tools to find microbial bio-stimulants, microbial consortia interactions and demonstrate colonization in-planta
  • Cultivating good working relationships to support current product expansion plans and investigate new product opportunities
  • Collating and sharing any technical and strategic updates to CTO and any other relevant internal teams

The person

You’ll be an organized microbiologist who has a risk-mitigated approach to product development tasks. You’ll be a strong influencer who can take the lead in finding solutions to any challenges faced. You also have:

  • Experience in practical microbiology within manufacturing and/or commercial products landscape
  • A degree in microbiology or relevant subject area
  • The ability to work well either independently or in a large team setting
  • Proficiency using MS Office software, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint
