About the role

We’re looking to find a highly talented Middleweight 3D Designer to join the United team at DS Smith. United are the in-house creative marketing agency for DS Smith’s Retail Marketing division, which specialises in brand activation, based out of our creative hub on Mill Street in London.

Retail Marketing at DS Smith is the principal Point of Sale (POS) business in the UK, working alongside top brands to deliver material to enhance their products in-store. We deliver award winning POS products for our customers, by leveraging our world-class manufacturing expertise, scale and reach to meet the complexities of retail, today and tomorrow.

As a Middleweight 3D Designer reporting into the Head of Design, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of creative projects for our key clients in Retail Marketing and Point of Sale (POS) design , working within an exciting and fast paced environment. You will work with clients and internal colleagues (e.g. Account Managers) to fully understand what is required, before providing creative concepts and developing retail marketing and POS materials in line with client expectations. Any experience also in animation and application of 2D graphics is preferred but that can be developed as part of the role.

We have multiple projects running at any one time, so you’ll need to be able to work within budgets and timelines, ensuring that all briefs are answered within the agreed time parameters, whilst consistently delivering to the highest standard.

If you’re an experienced retail and POS 3D creative with the ability to develop impactful, original and innovative ideas and concepts, and to then execute/design them with precision and flair, we’d love to hear from you.

About you  

Minimum requirements: 

• Significant experience in Retail Marketing, Display and Point of Sale
• Ability to create innovative and original 3D concepts and ideas that will delight our customers
• Excellent eye for detail, and 3D modelling skills, ability to create eye-catching 3D shape and forms for a wide range of POS displays.
• Experience working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, executing designs with speed and accuracy
• Fluent in Cinema 4D/ Create suite and After effects
• A strong communicator and collaborator – able to work effectively with various stakeholders
• Experience managing/mentoring junior team members and designers
• Previous experience of working with brand and retailer guidelines and the translation of supplied assets into new ideas and concepts

Location: This role can be homebased, with travel as required to our site in Ely, Cambridgeshire
