Marley is a specialist in pitched roof systems and a division of Marshalls plc. Founded in 1924 and with over 500 colleagues, we’ve joined forces with Marshalls plc , the UK’s leading manufacturer of hard landscaping – bringing two strong heritages together!

It’s rare that job opportunities arise to join our ‘family feel’ team at Gainsborough and it’s a great time to join the Marley and Marshalls family as we grow. With over 60 sites across the UK, we thrive on investing in our people and providing them with development opportunities and training at Gainsborough and beyond!

Our site at Gainsborough manufacturers timber battens, decking, shingles and shakes for the domestic and commercial market and you would be joining our small team of engineering experts who help keep the site running through reactive and planned maintenance.

So, if you are an apprentice trained engineer or qualified to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) or above then we would love to hear from you!

What's the role about?

Working as part of a skilled Engineering team, your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and maintenance of equipment.

You’ll be involved in a variety of engineering tasks, ensuring a proactive approach to preventing equipment failure. Working on various types of equipment including complex mechanical maintenance within hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems, you’ll be responsible for carrying out a range of planned and reactive engineering activities on site and there will be a true mix of mechanical and electrical maintenance

Working 36.5 hours per week on a 3-shift rotating pattern, you will do 2 weeks of nights (Sunday 10pm – Friday 6am), followed by a week of afters (Monday to Friday 2pm -10pm) and finally a week of earlies (6am-2pm). Due to our site in Gainsborough having a smaller Engineering team, it would be great if you have an element of flexibility to cover/change shifts in advance too.

What are the required skills?
