NHS 111 Call Handler
Wakefield, West
Yorkshire, WF2
Pay rate: 11.44ph - 19.68ph
Hours: Mixed rota pattern covering 24/7
This is a fantastic opportunity to join Gi Group to
appoint several NHS111 Call Handlers to our client based in Wakefield,
WF2. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Yorkshires most
successful Integrated Urgent Care Providers and become a part of a
highly skilled and dynamic team with plenty of opportunities to train
and develop.
NHS Call Handler responsibilities:

Answering inbound calls quickly and efficiently to advise and help
manage people's symptoms telephonically
* Direct patients to the
most appropriate healthcare professional once the condition is
assessed
* Use software to record patient's basic clinical
information
* Support patients to manage their own condition at
home, where clinically appropriate
* Liaise effectively between
callers and third parties in critical situations
* Meet daily key
performance indicators (KPIs) and targets
* Advanced listening,
probing and facilitative skills across a wide range of calls, some of
which can be challenging due to emotive circumstances
NHS
Call Handler required skills:
* Experience in customer facing
roles including care, call centre or customer service
*
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
* Possess a
high degree of literacy and can record information accurately and
correctly
* Be able to learn new skills and receive feedback on
your performance
* Flexibility with working hours
* IT
literate with the ability to confidently use a computer and move
quickly between applications
* Ability to deal with
confidential/sensitive and distressing information
* Excellent
telephone manner and effective communication skills
* Ability to
prioritise workload
* Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C+ or
equivalent, including English and Math's
* Successful candidates
would need to be comfortable completing an Enhanced DBS
Check
You do not need any experience in healthcare as full
comprehensive training will be provided, however you do need to be
dedicated to patient care and be able to work the shift patterns
allocated.
NHS Call Handler Pay:
* Pre 12 week -
Weekdays 11.44, Evenings and Saturdays 14.07, Sundays & BH 17.61
*
Post 12 week - Weekdays 11.62, Evenings and Saturdays 15.72, Sundays &
BH 19.68
NHS Call Handler Shift:
* 24 hours or 30
hours per week - mixed rota pattern covering 24/7, please be aware 70%
of the rostered hours will be out of hours (after 8pm and
weekends)
* Overtime available
*You must be able to work
37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday for the first 12 weeks due to
training requirements. Due to training candidates must be available
for 12 weeks without any upcoming holiday*
