Full Job Description

Big name, English newspaper website, read around the world, seeks night news editor to run their overnight news output.

The Night News Editor’s Role:-

• Direct, develop and maintain the quality of output of rolling, 24-hour digital news.
• Work closely with the night editor and a team of reporters to identify and deliver breaking news stories.
• Keep an eye on the wires, rival news publications, social media, etc.
• On the management team, involved in management of editorial processes, news gathering, news page editing, etc, etc.

You

• Have proven ability to stay calm and deliver compelling news stories in a fast-paced, 24-hour news environment – you enjoy the intensity.
• Have a solid track record of managing a team of news reporters for a newspaper.
• Lots of experience of 24-hour digital news and production processes in a newspaper setting.
