Location:  Hybrid schedule, 2 days/week in Somerset, NJ

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing:

 

 

This leadership role is responsible for all accounting and finance aspects of the Company’s North America Hearing Aids business, Canada Diagnostics, and North America Implants business, as well as the U.S. shared services functions which supports all Demant U.S. businesses. This hands-on leader will ensure financial processes are in place to maintain proper financial controls and drive financial results. This role will p artner with senior business leaders as a strategic thought partner to create budget plans and business forecasts to drive strategic initiatives to meet or exceed revenue goals.

 

This leadership role has overall responsibility of Accounting, Finance Business Partnering, Finance Operations (A/R, A/P, Cash, and Finance Administration) and Pricing Governance for the North America Hearing Aids business and the Shared Service functions for the U.S. (Tax and Payroll). The SVP of Finance is also the lead finance designate responsible for coordinating with the Finance leaders for all of the other US businesses and Denmark-HQ Global Finance.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Advise key leadership executives on a broad range of operational, strategic, and tactical issues impacting company revenue and profitability.
  • Energize and enhance the Finance function; implement strategic vision and build strong financial culture driven to excellence with an appropriate set of rigor and urgency.
  • Responsible for the full people management process of hiring/firing, retention, performance management, coaching for employee development, etc.
  • Creates a positive work environment that maximizes individual and team performance by setting expectations, holding individuals accountable, providing training/guidance/coaching to develop team members' capabilities.
  • Analyze the workforce and define short and midterm plans on staff, skill, systems and vendor support to define most efficient and cost-effective support to the business.
  • Own and facilitate the budget and forecasting process proactively, transparently and in a structured manner in coordination with the North America Commercial Presidents and HQ, including analysis of financial budgets/forecasts and monitoring organizational progress.  
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders and partners and providing guidance on decisions based upon facts and data.
  • Anticipate unfavorable financial results or variances, conduct research, and offer preliminary explanations and appropriate countermeasures.
  • Ensure U.S. Hearing Aids accounting maintains financial record systems in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”) and the Company’s policies.
  • Ensure effective internal controls are documented and operating effectively.
  • Ensure proper governance is maintained on pricing and contractual customer agreements.
  • Liaise with Legal and Tax on corporate legal reporting structure and recommendations to ensure compliant and effective operation of the business.
  • Provide comprehensive due diligence support for all acquisitions and drive decision on full or partial integration. 
  • Define process and policy and effectively communicate, train and implement department and companywide changes.
  • Responsible for all Finance aspects of the US Wholesale ERP Project.

 

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 15 years work experience in the financial field of a private sector with 5 years mid to senior level finance/accounting experience and 5 years management experience.
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Results focus and exhibits a sense of urgency, drives self and team to execute timely on business goals.
  • Ability to ‘zoom in’ to the critical details to run the business and quickly ‘zoom out’ to ensure the team stays on track to the big picture business objectives and goals
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking ability – ability to perform root cause analysis; make a recommendation understanding impacts and drive decision and implementation to support business strategies.
  • Builds trust through personal credibility and creates mutual respect through words and actions. Consistently offers quality advice, counsel and insight.
  • Superior relationship skills to ensure success in fast-paced, evolving and challenging business environment.
  • Proven track record of working with organizational change management.
