This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) , including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

The Role

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy. As Nuclear Decommissioning Apprentice, you will be acting under direction of the Waste Innovation Team Leader and facility supervisors to operate plant system and equipment, performing various hand-on tasks mainly in active facilities, managed by the Waste Innovation Group, ensuring maximum utilisation, whilst upholding safety and compliance with relevant regulations to mitigate risk. 

You will play a pivotal role in complying with and accurately managing records relating to Operating Instructions or Work Control documentation for operation of plant or equipment within the facilities to perform tasks relating to nuclear decommissioning which includes disassembling or decontamination, and waste management, e.g. sort, segregate, transfer & minimise waste arisings as well as assisting with installations and commissioning of new equipment under supervision.

Essential Requirements

  • 5 GCSES A*-C (9-4) including Maths and English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate an interest and aptitude for chosen area of work.
