A bit about the role
Place of Work: National
Remuneration: Up to 20 days per year (at day rate to be agreed), plus expenses

The GB Rowing Team’s aim is to create an Olympic Pathway that is open, accessible, and clear, so that any individual who has the potential to row for Great Britain can achieve their ambitions. The post-holders will play a key role within that Pathway, providing specialist support and education which enables athletes and coaches to develop a ‘Gold Medal Mindset’.

The position is a part-time contractor role for an agreed number of days per year, supporting via a combination of virtual and face to face camp-based delivery. It offers the opportunity to join our team at an exciting time for the Olympic Pathway, as we embark on delivering a bold and ambitious new strategy to identify and develop our Olympic Rowers of the future.

Responsibilities
● Work with the Olympic Pathway Manager and Senior Performance Development Coach, to provide mental skills/mindset training to athletes and coaches within the Olympic Pathway talent identification and development programmes, with a particular focus on athletes within the GB Performance Development Academies
● Provide support with group education and training for all athletes and coaches within the Performance Development Academies which provide athletes with psychological tools to use in their daily life & rowing. This education will be delivered via a combination of virtual webinars and face to face delivery at Olympic Pathway camps
● Work with the Performance Development Coaching team to enable coaches to support athletes with their mindset development within their own coaching environments
● Attend an agreed number of National Olympic Pathway camps where required and relevant
● Establish links with the appropriate British Rowing staff to ensure appropriate exchange and continuity of relevant medical information as appropriate
● Comply with Professional Codes of Conduct, standards and guidelines where relevant
A bit about you
We are looking for an experienced practitioner who can work as part of a team, to successfully develop athletes following a long-term progressive approach. You should have the experience and personal qualities to enable you to support high-performance environments, and aspire to work with individuals who may not otherwise have the opportunity to reach the very top
of the sport.
Mandatory Requirements
Role Requirements
The postholder will be required for up to 20 days per annum. These days should be used for the following purposes;
● Administration time
● Education and training for athletes and coaches

The above can be delivered virtually or at agreed face to face contact opportunities. This could include attendance at National Olympic Pathway camps in Nottingham. However attendance at those camps is not a requirement.

Person Specification/Governance Requirements
It is expected that all staff will have the following in place and valid for at least the period of the contract. It is your responsibility to arrange these. Evidence will be required prior to the commencement of the contract.

Essential
● UKAD Introduction to Clean Sport or British Rowing’s iRowClean workshop certificate
● UK Coaching’s Safeguarding and Protection Children training (or equivalent)
● UK Coaching’s Safeguarding Adults training (or equivalent)
● Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training
● GDPR training
● A current DBS check will be made through British Rowing
● CEST checks (Check Employment Status for Tax)
● Professional Indemnity insurance
● Membership of British Rowing

Expected
● Current British Psychological Society (BPS) Chartership or BASES SEPAR accreditation
● Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
● Postgraduate qualifications in Sport Psychology
● First aid training including CPR
