Job Description

To support delivery and development of a top performing Operational Excellence capability within the Advisory Services group that wins and delivers high value consultancy projects across a broad range of industries integrating continuous improvement thinking across all the work that we deliver. We are currently recruiting for a Operational Excellence Consultant with experience in collaboration frameworks (i.e. ISO 44001, High Performing Teams models, etc) and strong facilitation skills applied to improvement and change initiatives in the virtual environment, face-to-face and hybrid. Awareness and knowledge of lean methodologies, collaborative working, collaborative planning, and continuous improvement is a plus.

Job Duties:

The Business Transformation team is a key part of the Advisory Services of B+P (Buildings and Places) and as a member of the team you will:

  • Support delivery of value propositions mainly for collaboration and professional facilitation but could also support change, lean, agile and other operational excellence capabilities.
  • Improve the way facilitate in the virtual, hybrid and face to face environment.
  • Help develop our professional facilitation solutions offering.
  • Work with the People & Culture lead to enhance the maturity of our solutions offerings
  • Support the development of thought leadership that sets AECOM apart from its competitors.
  • Support in the delivery and development of best practice methods and standards for collaboration & facilitation in the context of operations & infrastructure projects and programmes
  • Maintain a network throughout AECOM to adopt operational excellence and collaboration practices into delivery of their projects and with their clients.
  • Maintain client relationships through project delivery and in support of business development.
  • Ensure you deliver projects professionally an execute to quality, cost and time.
  • Champion a culture of safety

Requirements:

  • You will be an experienced facilitator with awareness of change, lean, continuous improvement and process optimisation demonstrating excellent people skills.
  • You will have experience in complex multidisciplinary collaborative environments.
  • You will be able to help a group of individuals to work together effectively and efficiently. This may involve helping the group to establish goals, develop team culture, high performing teams, ways of working, enhance governance, develop plans, and make decisions.
  • You will be responsible for facilitating meetings, workshops, or other events, and may use a variety of techniques and tools to engage participants and ensure that the event is successful.
  • You will have experience in leading the facilitation of interdisciplinary collaborative sessions / workshops with internal and external customers
  • You will be willing to work in a consulting capacity and develop stakeholder relationships.
  • You will have a some understanding of change methodologies
  • You will be able to demonstrate a background of being involved in preparing, delivering and preparing outputs of a workshop
  • You will demonstrate initiative and a desire for dealing with complex problems, especially helping teams hold difficult conversations
  • You will be able to listen to clients, understand and relate their requirements for our services.
  • You will be flexible and willing to work away from the office to meet our client or business demands.
  • We envisage that the role will be based in either our Birmingham or Swindon offices, however there will be a need for regular travel to other locations, mainly across the UK, but also Europe and further afield as required.
