About the Role 

As Yondr transforms the real estate and technology landscape, we're seeking an Operations Senior Engineer to spearhead system and field instrument technical support in the EMEA region. Your role is pivotal in ensuring optimal business performance and delivering cutting-edge user experiences.

In this dynamic role, you'll be responsible for managing technical support, optimising systems, and overseeing control systems, encompassing BMS, PMS, and the entire spectrum of data centre assets. While stationed in Amsterdam, occasional travel will be essential for non-local new builds.

Main Responsibilities 

/ Uptime Assurance: Ensure 100% uptime, considering Health & Safety, financial obligations, and client needs.  

/ Design Validation and Commissioning: Review designs, validate installations, and provide technical commissioning support within your area of responsibility.  

/ Project Coordination: Attend project meetings, coordinate with project leaders, and collaborate with vendors for seamless execution.  

/ Troubleshooting Excellence: Demonstrate expert troubleshooting on technically advanced equipment, addressing problems with equipment/processes.  

/ Graphical User Interface Development: Develop and modify graphical user interfaces, contributing to Design & Change Management processes.  

/ Site Improvement Projects: Develop comprehensive scopes of work for site improvement projects, overseeing their successful completion.  

/ Stakeholder Management: Manage multiple stakeholders' deliverables, requirements, and navigate challenging situations.  

/ On-Site Supervision: Frequently visit operational Data Centers in different regions, supervising vendor work to ensure compliance.  

/ Lifecycle Review and Forecast: Facilitate yearly lifecycle reviews and forecasts on assets within your area of responsibility.  

/ Resource Optimization: Ensure efficient resource use, delivering objectives on time, within scope, and within budget.  

/ Training and Diagnostics: Provide training on control systems functionality and diagnose operating problems.  

/ Compliance Assurance: Ensure compliance with local legislation by implementing maintenance strategies and conducting audits for effectiveness.  

/ Interfacing and Ownership: Interface with IM regarding BMS or PMS issues and be overall responsible for all BMS/PMS aspects of the site.  

/ Documentation and Reporting: Write technical specifications and reports, ensuring complete compliance with Yondr Group processes and procedures.  

/ Vendor Relationships: Develop and maintain vendor relationships, ensuring continuous technical professional development.  

/ Global Standardisation: Participate in global technical excellence forums, contributing to global standardisation and rolling out changes in your region.  

/ Services Design Input: Provide input to the services design, focusing on BMS/PMS Engineering, and support the coordination of other services packages.

/ Ownership Representation: Represent ownership on factory acceptance tests and site testing & commissioning activities across EMEA.  

/ Continuous Improvement: Benchmark and provide continuous improvement suggestions to optimise data centre efficiency and performance.  

/ Team Management: Manage technical site teams, service providers (FM), and manufacturers (OEM), ensuring integration of new technologies.  

/ Supplier Relationship Management: Own the supplier relationship, ensuring ongoing management of performance, quality, cost, and contractual commitments.  

Qualifications and experience  

/  Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or control systems.  

/ 8-10 years of relevant experience in control system design/installation.  

/ Strong knowledge of design/construction industry practices.  

/ Interpersonal and people management skills.  

/ Understanding of daily operations in critical environments.  

/ Experience in project development and basic project management.  

/ Availability for emergency cover and client/stakeholder management.
