Full Job Description

This is a senior “lynchpin” role as we grow the business, and is of central importance. We require a dedicated and loyal individual who will be a key part of our Company’s exciting future. The role is all-encompassing and we require a flexible individual who has proven experience of management within a luxury florist.


The role will require the individual to work closely alongside the Company Directors and the freelance florists, with an emphasis on overall management and responsibility of logistics and operation. This will include an array of responsibilities that include scheduling and rota management, team management, studio management, installation and management of onsite events. Communication is a key aspect of this role and needs to be a priority and consideration in everything we do.


REQUIREMENTS:


Team management

● Ensuring enough staff are allocated to each event and contracts, planning their rotas and annual leave;

● Working with the shop manager to ensure adequate staffing for the retail side of the business;

● Running weekly meetings with the Directors and the team to go through upcoming events;

● Where required, leading install teams on events; and

● Generally, liaising with the wider team to ensure a seamless service is always provided.


Operations

● Planning the weekly schedule of deliveries and collections;

● Complete event organisation and administration, from creating schedules and job sheets through to managing events onsite and ensuring they run smoothly and to schedule;

● Coordinating staffing and logistics for all events, including booking freelance florists and logistical support, additional vehicles, and submitting security details when required;

● Making sure events are always delivered and collected on time and in professional manner;

● Sourcing / buying props and managing stock levels and maintain inventory;

● Ensuring the studio space maintains a high standard of tidiness, cleanliness and organisation; and

● Working closely with the Shop Manager on daily and weekly reports.


Client-facing elements

● Representing the Company and creating a good lasting impression when dealing with all clients, venue staff and other suppliers;

● Managing client enquiries (phone and email);

● Project and event management;

● Attending client-briefing and meetings for events, weddings etc; and

● Preparing cost and visual proposals for clients.


Business development

● Assisting with the marketing and new business strategy of the Company;

● Fostering existing relationships and building new relationships in the events and hotels industry; and

● Contribute to future growth strategies.


Studio culture

● Create and communicate company guides that streamline policies and protocols; and

● Lead company culture and values.


General

● Strong understanding of the florist and event industry;

● Be flexible and adaptable, building strong relationship internally and externally;

● Possess a clear passion and energy for Grandirosa;

● Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required;

● Communicate regularly and effectively with the Directors and to seek support from appropriate staff at the earliest opportunity should problems arise.


Must have requirements for any applicant:

● Right to work in the UK

● 5 Years’ experience at management level in a luxury florist

● Be enthusiastic, diligent and proactive;

● Be hard working with a ‘muck in approach’ attitude;

● Be comfortable working on their own initiative as well as working within a team;

● Be forward thinking and always planning ahead;

● Be confident with Gmail, Google Docs/Sheets/Slides and Microsoft Word/Excel/ppt etc; and

● Be confident in managing a team.
