Base office Bristol (with national travel)

Two-year fixed term contract

£40,262 - £48,077

As an Organising Official you will work be responsible for organising recruitment initiatives and supporting campaign activity. You will be developing local representatives, improving branch organisation and workplace communications. You will also provide individual support for members where required.  The role will have a particular focus on defence and science areas but will also work on other regional priorities.

The base for this role will be in Bristol. However, it will involve travel nationally to various sites. Subject to Prospect’s car policy, you may be eligible for a company car. Initially offered on a fixed term basis, the role will become permanent subject to demonstrable evidence of success.

Essential

  • Building and managing networks of volunteers independently
  • Strong communicator with ability to influence and work well as a team.
  • Experience of delivering organising projects, organisational change or similar.
  • Experience of working in a membership and/or advocacy organisation including case work.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Experience of providing excellent customer focused service by email, writing and over the telephone
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of employment law and health and safety.
  • Valid UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the application and use of project management principles and techniques
