You will be responsible for a wide range of tax areas across corporate, VAT, SDLT, employment taxes and CIS reporting.

Description

  • Prepare tax accounting calculations, journals, and tax notes for local stat accounts
  • Prepare annual tax budgets
  • Prepare quarterly tax forecasts
  • Assist Head of Worldwide Group Tax with Ad Hoc requests around quarterly Investor reporting and other board requests
  • Manage all UK tax compliance obligations including Corporation tax, Value Added Tax, stamp duty, employment tax, CIS reporting, and forecast of tax instalment payments
  • Manage UK based tax matters through personal interaction and improvement of systems, processes and ongoing staff training
  • Prepare UK Corporation tax calculations for reporting and submission, involving liaison with the wider finance team and external advisors
  • Liaison with HMRC for tax compliance matters
  • Oversee cash flows and liaise with the treasury function to ensure tax payments are made in a timely manner
  • Maintain documentation and file appropriate returns in the UK where required
  • Review and update tax risk management policy and tax risk management plan.
  • Review of technical Corporation tax, VAT, transfer tax and property tax planning and structuring matters for property and entity acquisitions, financing and disposal arrangements.
  • Liaising with the legal, development and wider finance teams to review legal documentation and financial models, to ensure correct tax calculation and treatment
  • Deliver favourable tax outcomes for current and future transactions, including external stakeholder management of third parties and tax authorities
  • Project manage and review expert external tax opinions and financial models for new projects.
  • Prepare and present training materials from external tax opinions regarding UK technical matters and compliance procedures
  • Active participant in tax technical training for continued professional development.
  • Review systems, policies and procedures to ensure appropriate information is captured in tax reporting and compliance involving liaison with the finance teams involved in preparing tax filings.

Profile

  • CTA qualification
  • Accounting qualification
  • 5 years plus post CTA qualification experience
  • Experience of both partnership and corporate taxation
  • Experience of property tax, capital allowances and property VAT
  • Experience of using Net Suite and Alpha tax (desirable)
