Full Job Description

High Point University Health is looking for an energetic and contagiously-positive Patient Relations Coordinator who thrives on positive relationships with patients and other staff. Your smiling face is the first thing a patient sees when they walk in the door, so your primary role is to facilitate exceptional patient experiences so that they tell one hundred of their friends how wonderful their experience was. QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s degree and bachelor’s degrees are a plus, but not required

Experience and Training

  • Experience in a customer service role, preferably multitasking (e.g. scheduling appointments while answering phones)
  • Preferred experience in a dental or medical office
  • Preferred training on an electronic medical record
  • EPIC training is a major plus, but not necessary

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :  

  • Greets and checks-in patients with a smile
  • Registers new patients
  • Manages, confirms, and schedules appointments for optimum patient flow
  • Manages incoming patient inquiries via the telephone and internet, verify patient insurances, ensure co-pays and outstanding balances are collected
  • Continuously assesses the schedule ensuring optimum patient flow
  • Responds to patient, clinical, and operational concerns timely and effectively.
  • Cross-trains to present financial options for patient treatment plans
  • Engages patients in marketing initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Operations
  • Supports practice and organizational goals

ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Senior Associate Dean for Administration and Finance
  • Evaluation: Ongoing performance reviews is conducted along with an annual assessment by the CDO and includes input from the faculty and students.
