Pharmacy Assistant

Full Job Description

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for aBand 3 Pharmacy Assistant to join an NHS Hospital in the Swansea area. They are looking for people who can work full time, with some shifts covering out of hours/weekends/bank holidays. This is on an initial 3 month contract, with the view of extension.

Key Duties:

• Manning the pharmacy reception
• Assembly and dispensing of items against prescriptions and ward diaries
• Providing a pharmacy ward top-up service to the allocated ward
• Receiving stock from suppliers within the pharmacy store
• Assisting in the delivery and collection of pharmacy items to and from wards and departments
• To participate in rotas for bank holiday, weekend and extended hours working
• Complying with all relevant legislation, codes of practice, health board policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Previous pharmacy experience (training/short course/work experience accepted)
• Knowledge of procedures for pharmacy area
• Experience to Vocational Level 3
