Full Job Description

An AMAZING agency (whose work across commercial, film, music recently won at the BAFTAs) is looking for a Photo Agent to join their photography division – there’ll also be a lot of opportunity to cross collaborate with the film division.

Newly created due to the agency’s recent growth, you’ll be working closely with the Head of Photography in helping to develop and ‘sell’ the photographers on their roster. This includes attending meetings, scouting for fresh talent for their books, coordinating projects and fees, attending on-set film/music/commercial shoots when necessary. There is also room for creative flair in this role which makes it even more unique, for example helping out on the magazine the agency designs twice a year to showcase the agency for new and existing clients which helps to further promote their talent, as well as helping out with exhibitions and nurturing photographers’ portfolios.

The role is working 5 days a week (9.30am - 6pm) from their offices in central London however if there was ever a need to work from home e.g. a delivery or an appointment, this can be discussed and approved with the Head of Photo.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Guidance and development of artists. Helping the artists understand the industry and building on their current skills. This includes the creation of portfolios, feeding back on the artists’ work; keeping in touch with artists regularly; managing artists' diaries and helping photographer’s to interpret briefs
  • Photography sales and commissions
  • Negotiating fees
  • Dealing with copyrights, licensing and usage.
  • Regular outreach
  • Working closely with the Head of Photography within the department.

  • At least 3 Years previous experience as a photography agent with a proven track record of high value commissions and an enviable contacts book across both commercial and editorial.
  • Experience of liaising directly with clients to receive briefs, and negotiate terms.
  • The initiative to take on and learn new tasks in a fast-moving environment.
  • Highly organised and able to pivot between daily deadlines and longer-term projects
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to develop solutions to a changing brief
  • A passion for driving change and creating opportunities for underrepresented talent.
