Full Job Description

The Opportunity: 

As part of the School of Physics & Astronomy and Institute for Astronomy's commitment to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI), the EDI committee is engaged with improving the experience of students and staff in the School. Our intern will work on updating School EDI resources, as well as on EDI topics aligned to their interest and experience.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working. 

Employ.ed on Campus is run by the Careers Service in collaboration with University departments and Schools. It offers exclusive summer internships at the University over the summer for 2nd year to penultimate year undergraduate students from the University of Edinburgh based in the UK. You cannot take part if you are a visiting student, or you have already taken part in the programme before. Your skills and attributes for success: 

  • A demonstrable interest in EDI issues
  • Experience of researching and organising information
  • Ability to communicate well with colleagues, both academics and professional services staff, in a constructive and professional way, including presenting information in written form
  • Experience of team work
