Job DescriptionMajor Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for a Planner/Scheduler for our long-established client on a Fixed-Term Contract with a possibility of being made Permanent. Our client, a leading name in oilfield equipment, is looking to add a dynamic member to their diverse team.
Pay Rate: £18.97 - £23.59 per hour
Location: Kintore
Duration: 24 months with possibility of becoming Permanent
WFH possible if required
What you will be doing as a Planner/Scheduler:
- Planning and preparation of production schedules for assembly and machine shop for specified product lines based on customer demand, equipment, labour and raw material availability.
- Drawing up master/discipline schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet client forecasted master schedule.
- Driving S&OP meetings to determine effective stock holding.
- Analysing production specifications and construction data and human resource requirements for the production schedule.
- Planning sequence of assembly and machining. Using departmental Capacity Planning tools to determine if production will be constrained in future periods; load level production plan and identify potential corrective actions such as: working overtime, adding equipment, outsourcing or expediting.
- Monitoring machine metrics to determine utilisation, part count and route amendment to maintain machine schedule
- Highlighting any variations on costing throughout production sequence.
- Expediting operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Preparation of production reports and Sales updates.
- Working closely with the Machining Centre Scheduler, Purchasing and Sales to ensure all material requirements are reviewed to meet schedule and S&OP requirements.
- Reviewing, monitoring and managing New Product introductions to ensure that the Supply Chain can support all requirements.
- Preparing requisitions to obtain materials, tools, and equipment.
- Ensuring that accurate and complete accounting, reporting and internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are properly maintained.
- Delegating to produce project packets, shop packets, pick lists, production schedules, manufacturing orders and purchasing requisitions. Also, action in an accurate and timely manner production orders, forecasts, and availability requests.
- Updating Sales order deliveries and liaising with the sales team, especially where changes to the Master Production Schedule have taken place.
- Presenting key information to sales weekly Management Production meeting.
- Supporting the attitudes required within the team in meeting customer requirements/expectations, specifically in respect to handling enquiries, quotes, technical, administrative and commercial issues.
- Coordinating activities within adjoining teams to ensure efficiencies and effectiveness are the primary outcome.
- Supporting other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as required
What our client is looking for in a Planner/Scheduler:
- Essential:
- Experience in (ERP) System
- Planning software experience
- High degree of communication skills
- Working knowledge and technical understanding of planning manufacturing activities within assembly, machining and inspection techniques
- Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to interpret engineering documents
- Desirable:
- CIPS or CPIM certification
- Previous experience with scheduling production
- Knowledge of Well Pressure Control Equipment products
- Advance level of English proficiency
- ORACLE (ERP) System
