Full Job Description

Sky News is looking for an experienced and creative podcast producer to work on two of its premium political podcasts - Politics at Jack & Sam's and Electoral Dysfunction .

You will be immersed in politics and current affairs and have first class editorial and production skills to match an unstinting ambition to make Sky News the best in the political podcasting arena.

The role involves producing two high-profile podcasts a week, working with and steering key talent, generating ambitious and innovative ideas and formats and helping devise effective strategies for promoting content on Sky News and external platforms.

You will be expected to work evenings and weekends as well carrying out on-location production.

What you'll do:

  • Record, edit and publish Sky News podcasts
  • Write scripts, structure episodes, brief presenters and guests
  • Liaise with colleagues in TV and digital production to ensure effective promotion and cross promotion of podcasts
  • Contribute ideas and angles for discussion
  • Devising and developing new formats
  • Help to grow our audience with editorial impact

What you'll bring:

  • Experience and imagination producing podcasts with a flair for mixing audio creatively and effectively
  • A firm grasp of national and international news and current affairs
  • An in-depth knowledge of the political podcast market
  • Extensive studio operating, recording, and editing experience
  • Flexibility and a commitment to develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues
  • All applications MUST be accompanied by examples of your audio production work
