Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) – Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary

Location: Hampshire & Isle of Wight

Contract: Full-time & Permanent

As a Police Community Support Officer (PCSO), you will work at the heart of the local communities across Hampshire and Isle of Wight, providing a visible and accessible presence. About the Role:

You will be a key part in crime prevention and community support by building partnerships with residents, schools and other groups. Other duties may include;

Tackling anti-social behaviour and drug related crime

*

Attending community events

*

Build strong relationships with communities

*

Help keep communities safe at a local level

*

Patrol neighbourhoods and be a contact for your local community

*

Provide support and reassurance to victims

*

Help with missing person enquiries

*

Detaining a person until an officer arrives

*

Play a vital role in helping to improve relations between the police and local communities

Salary and Benefits:

You starting full time salary will be £24,921 to £27,351 per annum (Scale 4), together with additional weekend enhancement payments and shift allowance of potentially around £4800 per annum (depending on your shift pattern), which payable after the initial is training period.

This takes the salary, once progressed to the top of the pay scale, to a maximum gross salary of £32,151 in total.

You will also receive a Fully-funded professional qualification – Level 4 Diploma in Community Policing Practice.

Role Specific Training and Support

Being a PCSO is pivotal in helping us to achieve our Force Priorities of Relentlessly Pursuing Criminals, Putting Victims First and Delivering Exceptional Local Policing, therefore your training course will be fast-paced and is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to excel in your role.

About you

PCSOs are required to evidence Level 2 Maths and English (GCSE at C and above or equivalent).
